FAQ'S

To book an appointment, please email your ideas and references to us at soulartattoos@gmail.com. Be sure to include the sizing and placement you have in mind, as well as whether you have any existing work that will need to be taken into account

We will then pair you with the artist whose style most complements your concept and either arrange a consultation so you can discuss your design with them in person or just go ahead and book you straight in! Not all appointments will require a consultation, but we are happy to

accommodate this if you would prefer.

Consultations are free of charge and usually take 15 – 20 minutes.

Due to the busy nature of the studio, your design may not be ready to view until the day of your appointment. Because of this, it’s extremely important you are as upfront as possible and very clear with both your communication and selection of reference images so that there is no time wasted on numerous redesigns or having to start a piece from scratch.

Your artist will have time set aside at the beginning of your session to go over your design with you, and discuss any changes that may need to be made. We generally find it’s easier to discuss alterations in person – this ensures both you and your artist are on the same page. It’s important to trust your artist and have faith in the process.

If you feel overly uncomfortable with this method of working, please discuss this with your artist prior to booking. They may be able to clear time in their schedule to go over your design prior to your appointment, or recommend someone who can.  We want you to be 100% happy with your tattoo, but can unfortunately only dedicate so much time and energy into each design.

If your artist feels they aren’t getting any closer to a final result, they may choose to cancel your appointment. We obviously don’t want you to feel pressured in any way, but please be respectful of your artists time and skill level. If your appointment is cancelled, your deposit may be refunded at your artists discretion. If they have spent a lot of time working on your design, your deposit may be kept as compensation.

As artists we love nothing more than being given a certain amount of artistic freedom when it comes to designing your new tattoo.

Allowing your artist creative freedom will ensure they are able to create a unique and custom design, that is both aesthetically pleasing and works in harmony with the natural curvature of the body.

The pieces our artists are most drawn to are typically those where there aren’t too many restrictions imposed on them. If we feel we will have to compromise our artistic ability, or the integrity of your tattoo in order to include every design aspect you like, we may choose to decline your concept or cancel your booking. In this case we will be happy to help point you in the right direction of an artist who may be more suitable.
Cash is our preferred method of payment where possible.

We do have eftpos and credit available if needed and also offer Laybuy – please note, surcharges apply for both Afterpay and credit options.

Payment is required on the day – no exceptions
On the day of your appointment please arrive on time – your artists time is valuable and if you are late, you will still be required to pay from the agreed upon start time. Wear clean and comfortable clothing, and ensure you’re well hydrated and have had a decent meal prior to your session.

Please ensure you have allowed plenty of time for your session. If you need to leave early, let us know prior to your appointment. Please try not to place time constraints on your artist – your tattoo is forever and we don’t want to rush it. We can always rebook you to finish it off at a later date.

You are welcome to bring one support person with you to your appointment – however we do ask they leave when we begin tattooing. Having extra people in the studio creates a lot of pressure for your artist, and they need to be able to concentrate fully on your tattoo – not to mention it can be very uncomfortable for your artist having someone else sit and watch them work.

Your artist will clean and shave the area, and apply the stencil if they are using one – they may also augment the stencil with freehand to ensure the design is as form fitting and aesthetically pleasing as possible. If you are booked for a long session, your artist will allow time for breaks throughout the day. We want you to be as comfortable as possible, so if you need a break, don’t be afraid to ask!
